Six Seeds of Success - Ethnic Study Character Development/Rites of Passage/ Life Skills Training Teacher Guide is approx. 250 pages and mostly written in poetry (the language of today's youth). It is easy to read and to follow. This curriculum is based on the research of famous Behaviorist, Lawrence Kohlberg, Harvard Professor. Therefore the elements of character development and critical thinking is intergrated throughout. The  Teacher Guide provides step by step teacher friendly lesson plans. It incorporates videos, art, service learning opportunities, individual and group activities throughout. Although Teacher Guide provides most of the answers, the teacher is encouraged to take advantage of his/her experiences to add to the learning. The curriculum deals with isuues of overcoming oppression (current and historical), racism, bias, gangs, drugs, death, politics etc.. The "Rites of Passage"/Chararcter Development components of the curriculum are designed to empower and grow the students into good citizens that add to society, instead of being a deficit. Suggested for grades 5 - 12.
